Puffles in 2022

Well it’s been a pretty insane few years, but I couldn’t imagine a better companion through it all than Puffles has been! Puffles has continued to be the perfect dog for us. He loves going on road trips with us, on hikes, and especially loves going to the beach, but not in the water. Here’s a few photos of him at 5 years old in 2022.

Spring Has Sprung

Well, as much as I’d hoped to get some cool photos of Puffles blasting around in the snow over the winter, the below on December 16th was pretty much all we got! It was one complete DUD of a winter, and now our springtime fun is being severely hampered with all of the lockdowns due to coronavirus. Puffles was a bit shaggy looking over the winter and we let his fur grow out longer, but we did finally get him groomed just before everything started locking down. He and William have been great playmates, and they love playing football together. I’ll try to get some more photos soon. Puffles has been a great friend to everybody through this, but he’s clearly a mama’s boy!!!!! :)

First Snow of the Season

We got our first snow of the season, a light dusting, which of course schools were closed for (freezing rain also). The kids thought it was lame that school was closed for basically nothing (it’s the North end of the county in the same school district that tends to get a lot more which drives the school closures). Even Puffles wasn’t that excited about the snow. Like the kids, he wants a good couple of inches to go blasting through before he’ll really get excited. LOL

Sorry for no Puffles pictures. There just hasn’t been any time. I’ve been 50% travel for work since September, which has been brutal, so posting regular doggy photos is one of the many things that’s fallen below the line this year. We still love him every day, and he sure does miss me and is happy to see me when I come home! Puffles is awesome. :)

“That’s it?”

Puffles At Virginia Beach

I’m sorry for the complete lack of updates in so long here! It’s been an unexpectedly busy summer, as always! We took Puffles on our annual trip to Virginia Beach this past month. Because we’re a “dog family” now, we ended up staying at the north end of Virginia Beach well past the boardwalk and resort areas in an AirBnB, as it just worked better for us. Not only did we love the beach a whole lot more without it being so crowded as is in the resort and boardwalk area, but Puffles loved the beach too. I hate to say it, but Puffles seemed to enjoy the beach far more than either of our kids do at this point, so why bring the kids? LOL!

Technically, dogs are not allowed on the beach from like 10am until 6pm or something through the summer months at Virginia Beach, but we saw plenty of dogs on the beach during this time, as did Virginia Beach patrols, so we think as long as the dogs aren’t a nuisance and nobody is complaining, they don’t really care. At least at the North end beyond the boardwalk and hotel resort areas. One of the 4-wheeler patrols went right by us, looked right at Puffles chilling out, and kept on driving. Puffles loved running and chasing his toys, doing some digging, and just hanging out, but was definitely afraid of the water!

June 8, 2019

We finally got Puffles in for his slightly overdue grooming, and he’s looking great again and has a nice trimmed down cut for the summer. This little sneak has started to think that he can hop up into our bed whenever he wants for some reason, so we’ve been having to set the limits with him. NO DOGS IN OUR BED. Sorry! I was nice enough to finally let him sleep in our bedroom after a year of crying for an hour twice per night in his crate away from us, but you have to draw the line somewhere!

We’re looking forward to a fun summer of adventures just like last year, and we’ll be brining Puffles along for many of them this year now that we finally have a car big enough to take everybody. Although he’ll miss our first beach trip, he’s going to get to go to New York City with us, and will also get to make a full week trip to Virginia Beach with us also. We still tell people the same thing. Don’t get a dog, it’ll be the biggest mistake of your life, but we love our dog and couldn’t imagine our lives without him. He’s awesome! :)

May 26, 2019 - Memorial Day Weekend

Puffles came with us all to Shenandoah National Park for Memorial Day weekend, and had a great time hiking all of the trails with us. He did just fine, but was definitely a tired doggy after our first full day of hiking with no time to nap during the day. See the new May 2019 album that I just put up for more photos.

Puffles has been enjoying one of his new toys and is all set for Memorial Day weekend!

May 6, 2019

Here’s a nice picture of Puffles taking a rest amongst the dandelions after running around the park over lunch one day last week. No official album for May yet. Will wait until I have some more photos to post of him.

MAY 2019

I had to split this page off because it was getting too big. You can see all of Puffles photos from when we got him until his first birthday on the new “Baby Puffles” page. He reached full size in about 7 months, so was only really a “baby” for about his first six months, but he’ll always be our baby! He’s right around 20 pounds even.

April 2019

Technically these photos are March also, but since my March album was getting full and I won’t have much time to take doggy photos in April, I split them up into two. Puffles had a great time chasing William’s remote control truck around. It goes something like 20 mph. Puffles is both faster, and can out-accelerate the truck and quickly corner it. He barks at it a lot, but his tail is up and wagging throughout, so we think it’s just a real thrill for him to chase something so fast and an adrenaline rush for him. You have to sneak your way past him with the truck and then punch it, and then he’ll take of chasing it, and if he really wants to he can shoot right past it! Puffles is a pretty fast dog! The truck can keep going longer than he can, but after he takes a little walking break he’ll start chasing after it again. So much fun for both dog and humans. :) This page is obviously getting too big as a whole, so I’ll have to split off all of the older stuff soon.

MARCH 26th, 2019

Puffles finally gets a grooming! Soooo much cuter and fluffy! Now we just need to make sure we stay on top of brushing and dematting. We did a pretty good job before, but it had just gotten too long.

MARCH 24th, 2019

Spring has sprung, and Puffles has been having a great time getting outside to run and exercise! Yes, he’s overdue for a grooming, but we’ve been waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before getting it done. Looks like it’s finally time. :)

Puffles had fun playing in the leaves! I tried to get him to run through a big pile like I saw in a random Instagram post, but he wasn’t that interested. Maybe next year!

OCTOBER 10TH, 2018 - HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY PUFFLES!!

We actually celebrated a day early because our daughter had a special school trip of a few days to go on, but we totally spoiled this little guy. Check out the BLOG.
